THE ED JOHNSON TROPHY
XP RIDER OF THE YEAR
A perpetual trophy awarded annually to the XP Rider of the
Year, in memory of Ed Johnson, the legendary rider who was regarded
by many as the finest horseman to ever ride and endurance trail.
The XP Board of Directors selects the recipient annually. The
2005 winner, Karen Chaton, rode and successfully completed every XP
ride in 2005, entirely on one horse!

XP HORSE OF THE
YEAR
A
perpetual trophy awarded annually to the XP Horse of the Year, in
memory of Wendell Robie, founder of the Tevis Cup and the modern
sport of Endurance Riding.
The
XP Board of Directors selects the recipient annually. The 2004
winner, Granite Chief, ridden by Karen Chaton was also selected as
the 2005 recipient of the award. In 2005 Chief completed 2250
miles overall and was also award the Arabian Horse Assocations
Distance Horse of the Year Award!

the Year, in memory of Ed Johnson, the legendary rider who was
regarded by many as the finest horseman to ever ride and endurance
trail. The XP Board of Directors selects the recipient annually. The
2004 winner, Dave Rabe rode and successfully completed every XP ride
in the 2004, including the entire XP2004 series from Bucklands to
Rush Creek, for a total of 2310 XP Miles. Dave only rode 77 AERC
rides in 2004 but he said that he should be able to ride more, now
that he has retired.

Chaton successfully completed 1160 XP miles and a total of 2135 AERC
miles, during the 04 season.
